The history of Christmas markets in Gdańsk dates back to the 17th century. The Gdańsk Christmas Market is primarily associated with colorful stalls filled with sweets, toys, delicious food, and handcrafted Christmas decorations. It is also a place of enchanting illuminations, where thousands of people take commemorative photos every year. Shopping is not all, as the magic of the upcoming Christmas holidays is completed by festive corners with a carousel, Santa Claus, the chatting guest Moose Lucek, a Christmas city game, and a rich program of workshops, performances, and concerts on the main stage. The Christmas Market 2026 runs from November 22 until December 23, at the locations: Targ Węglowy, Przedbramie, Tkacka Street, Bogusławski Street, and the Great Armoury of the Academy of Fine Arts.
